OWFC JUNIORS
Phil Plant - Manager Biography Q&A
1. Best playing memory - Winning the double - Cup and League for Penn Hollybush in one of our first seasons in senior football.
2. Favourite Position - Defender
3. Best managing memory - Seeing the boys faces when we won the trophy group was immense. Seconded by the elation from the boys when we secured our promotion, we needed to win by 2 clear goals in the last game of the season. 10 mins from the final whistle we were still 0-0. We came through with a 4-0 victory!
4. Old Wulfs plans going forward - I think its key to keep these boys playing together through their junior years and work our way into senior football. We need to be able to use our highs to keep the fire alive and to learn from the lows. These lads have tremendous potential and its up to us as coaches to bring it out of them.
5. Use 3 words to describe:
THE TEAM.
Death of me… ha-ha only kidding! Courageous, Witty & Winners
COACHES.
Dependable, Knowledgeable, Jokers
HUTCH - Sponsor
Supportive, Driven, Charismatic
6. Prediction for this season - With our promotion I would like to see us finish in the top half of the table with the intentions of pushing another promotion next season.
7. What the team means to me - This team has shown me how commitment, passion and desire can positively influence young minds on and off the field. These boys show commitment at every opportunity, they train every week, they play every week and live for football. They are committed to supporting each other both on and off the field. Passion is something that they display in various ways, they are learning different ways in which they can display their passion in the field. This flows into their desire to want to be the best they can be. They give everything in every game. Desire and determination will beat skill, if skill cant be bothered. So all in all this team means more than just football and results. It’s a starting point for some valuable life skills. Results will Come if the above is applied in a positive fashion.
