Today, we played against Wordsley Wasps West, and we anticipated it would be a challenging match since the pitch was sloped, reminiscent of what you might find on the side of Snowdon.
The game kicked off, and Old Wulfs started strong, dominating both the midfield and wing areas. Wordsley struggled to escape their half, and we missed numerous opportunities; it felt like the ball just refused to find the back of the net.
In the 23rd minute, Brad delivered a perfect pass to Olalekan, who calmly slotted the ball home.
After that, Old Wulfs again struggled to find the magic touch to score.
Halftime score: 1-0.
Greg reminded the lads to be cautious in the second half since we were playing uphill, but he encouraged them to maintain their hard work and continue passing, as Wordsley was having difficulty coping.
The second half began, and Old Wulf continued to play exceptionally well.
In the 46th minute, Wordsley earned a corner, and their player pushed Harry, our keeper, around. The ball came in, and their center back headed it in. Score: 1-1.
After that, the lads really switched on, taking shots from all angles, but they either went wide or just over the bar. Even our center back, Oscar, had a remarkable 40-yard strike that just sailed over. Wordsley fought hard to prevent us from scoring, clearing balls off the line.
By full time, the lads were unfortunate not to secure 3 points today, but they played some lovely football once again.
