Today was the big one — winner takes all against Chaddesley Ravens.
They only needed a draw to win the league… we had to WIN. Knowing they hadn’t lost all season and had already beaten us 2-1 earlier in the campaign, this was always going to be a massive challenge!

The support from both sides was unreal today - brilliant to see for all the lads. They deserved a stage like this.

⚽ KICK OFF ⚽

Nerves showed early for Old Wulfs and Chaddesley punished us straight away, scoring in the first minute… 0-1.
From there it became a proper battle. End-to-end football, tackles flying in, huge battles all over the pitch.

⚽ 15’ - Dan hits a looping effort that crashes off the bar, but Olalekan reacts first and SMASHES home the rebound! 1-1!
That goal brought Old Wulfs to life. Suddenly the lads were winning every battle.
⚽ 19’ - Chaddesley clear their lines but the ball drops to Ethan on the edge of the box and he calmly side-foots into the bottom corner. Keeper no chance! 2-1 Old Wulfs and the lads are buzzing!
⚽ 22’ - Chaddesley respond immediately with a lob over Harry to make it 2-2. What a game!

Both teams kept battling. Old Wulfs held a high line brilliantly, catching Chaddesley offside time after time. The spirit from the lads was unbelievable - celebrating every tackle, throw-in and defensive block like goals.

⚽ 38’ - Olly sends a huge looping ball over the top and big Harry G rises highest to head home! 3-2 Old Wulfs!

⏸️ HALF TIME - 3-2

Phil told the lads to keep battling, keep playing football and keep winning the battles because we were the better side.

⚽ SECOND HALF ⚽

Exactly the same intensity - both teams desperate to win.

⚽ 45’ - Harry G gets brought down in the box… PENALTY! Josh steps up, keeper saves it but Josh buries the rebound… only for the ref to rule it out saying the keeper had control of the ball. Heartbreak!
⚽ 47’ - Chaddesley win a penalty of their own after a long ball into the box… but they smash it against the post! This game had EVERYTHING.
⚽ 53’ - Ball over the top, defender misses it, Olalekan rounds the keeper and slots home! 4-2 Old Wulfs!

From there it became an absolute war. Every single Old Wulfs player showing unbelievable team spirit.

⚽ 80’ - Chaddesley pull one back after a huge ball over the top. 4-3.
Then the ref announces TEN minutes added time 😳 Chaddesley only need one more to win the league…
⚽ 80+5’ - Old Wulfs corner! Harvey loops it to the back post and Josh makes a massive unmarked run… BOOM! Header into the net! 5-3!!!

The whole place ERUPTS! Players, coaches, young Old Wulfs lads on the sidelines — absolute scenes!

After that Chaddesley threw everything at us, but Old Wulfs shut up shop. This was OUR day.

⏱️ FINAL WHISTLE - AND THE PLACE GOES OFF!!! 🎉🏆
What a game from both sides.
The team spirit and battling from these lads today was second to none.
Only one thing left to say…
CHAMPIONS!!! 🏆
I knew we could do it. What a season! ❤️🤍
