Old Wulfs vs PS Olympic (Cup)
Facing a team from the division above and missing two key players, Old Wulfs came into the cup tie knowing PS Olympic were hungry for revenge after our cup final win four years ago. But from the first whistle, Old Wulfs showed they were ready.
Kick-off:
Old Wulfs started brightly, pressing high and attacking with intent. Just 2 minutes in, Dan slipped a lovely through ball to Sam, who smashed it home for 1–0.
Old Wulfs continued to dominate both defensively and going forward. In the 13th minute, Dan was the creator again, this time sending Olalekan through on goal. He calmly slotted past the keeper to make it 2–0.
PS Olympic then pushed forward, helped by an Old Wulfs mistake in midfield. In the 19th minute, they scored from a free-kick to pull it back to 2–1. Three minutes later, a cross somehow found its way into the net, leaving Old Wulfs unlucky and the score level at 2–2.
Despite the setback, Old Wulfs regained control. From a 33rd-minute corner, the ball dropped to Josh, who smashed it into the roof of the net to make it 3–2 at halftime.
Halftime talk:
Phil urged the lads to attack the ball in midfield—win the headers, stay switched on, and keep playing the excellent football shown so far.
Second half:
Old Wulfs came out even stronger. PS Olympic struggled to get out of their own half as the pressure mounted. It took until the 75th minute, but the dominance paid off when Harvey played Olalekan through, and he grabbed his second of the game to make it 4–2.
From there, Old Wulfs controlled the match comfortably until the final whistle.
Full-time: Old Wulfs 4–2 PS Olympic
A brilliant performance, full of hard work, quality football, and strong team spirit. A big well done to the lads—let’s see how far we can go in this cup!
