Today, we were up against Gornal town North in the league cup.
The game kicked off, and it was pretty rough. Old Wulfs' passes weren't cutting it, and we weren't really finding our rhythm. Gornal took full advantage of this, putting pressure on Old Wulfs, and in the 11th minute, they took the lead, making it 1-0.
After that, Old Wulfs started to regain control, trying to get our passing game going, but we were still struggling.

In the 31st minute, we made a change; Lucas came on to play left wing, and with his first touch, he set up Olalekan, who calmly slotted it home in the 32nd minute, leveling the score at 1-1.

Now Old Wulfs were really playing some football.
In the 35th minute, Jack played Olalekan through on goal again, and he smashed it into the net! 2-1.
After that, it turned into a battle in the midfield, but Old Wulfs were winning!
Half time score was 2-1.
Greg talked to the lads, telling them to be quicker and sharper, to think about our passes instead of just booting the ball and hoping for the best. Plus, we need to stay disciplined in our shape!

The second half kicked off.

Old Wulfs started strong, but Gornal got a free kick on the edge of the box in the 43rd minute. The ball was shot at goal, and Josh MC tried to clear it, but it spun off his foot and into our net, so unfortunate 2-2.

Old Wulfs didn’t let that get them down; they pushed forward looking for another goal.
In the 47th minute, Jack found Lucas with a pass on the left. He was right on the edge of the box and hit it with conviction, what a goal!! 3-2.

After that, Old Wulfs had a few chances but couldn’t find the net. We dominated the last 5 minutes, but Old Wulfs had to dig deep defensively as Gornal pushed for a goal to take it to penalties. Thankfully, Old Wulfs were solid at the back.
Final score: 3-2.

What a game, lads! We really had to dig deep against a strong Gornal Town side. Let’s see how far we can go in the cup!
