Today we faced Dudley Town Robins, who sit mid-table. We knew it would be a tough game, they don’t concede many goals and we were also missing our goalkeeper.
Old Wulfs started brightly, creating a few early chances, but it was an even contest overall with Dudley’s number 8 running the show in midfield. 18 mins: A long kick from stand-in keeper Olly found Olalekan, who finished calmly to make it 1–0.
22 mins: Olalekan then turned provider, playing Kyle through, who struck a fantastic effort from outside the area — 2–0.After that, both sides battled hard in midfield, but we went into the break two goals up.
At halftime, Phil urged the lads to keep number 8 quiet, as he was dictating play for them, and to stay alert against their number 15 up front.
The second half started and within just three minutes, Dudley’s number 15 broke through and scored a tidy goal to make it 2–1.
From there, it was end-to-end action. Old Wulfs’ defence stood firm, dealing well with Dudley’s pressure.
71 mins: We were awarded a free-kick, Josh delivered a perfect ball into the danger zone, and Ethan rose highest to head home and restore the two-goal lead 3–1.
That’s how it finished. A solid team performance and a well-deserved win against a strong Dudley Town Robins side.
