Today we travelled to Gornal Town, a team we’ve already beaten twice this season. We knew it would be a tough game, with them out for revenge, but we also knew a win would take us top of the league. We were missing three players through illness, but the lads were up for it from the start.

Kick-off: Old Wulfs came flying out the blocks, pressing hard and dominating early on.
Just 3 minutes in, Sam played a lovely through ball to Olalekan, who smashed it home to make it 0–1.

But almost instantly, a lapse in concentration saw Gornal equalise in the 5th minute, 1–1.
From then on it was a proper battle, but Old Wulfs looked the stronger side and created most of the chances. In the 18th minute, Lucas played a looping ball over the top for Olalekan, who slotted calmly into the bottom corner, 1–2.

Half-time: 1–2

Phil had a few words with the lads, reminding us to close Gornal down quicker and not let the lead slip.

Second half: We started brightly again, pushing forward straight from kick-off and creating chances, but just couldn’t find the net. It turned into a real battle, tackles flying in and both sides giving everything. Sam looked to have been brought down in the box, but the ref waved it away.

In the final five minutes, Old Wulfs had to dig deep and defend for our lives. Every player fought for the badge until the final whistle.

Full-time: Gornal Town 1–2 Old Wulfs

What a performance, lads!

Massive shift from everyone — and we’re now TOP OF THE LEAGUE! Let’s carry this momentum into the next game! ❤️🤍⚽
