Today, we faced off against the Severn Valley Vulcans, and we knew it was going to be a tough match. After last week’s loss, we were hoping the old Wulfs would show some grit and determination. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. Within just five minutes, we found ourselves down 1-0. The old Wulfs tried to control the midfield, but Severn Valley was just too strong. In the 19th minute, they scored again, making it 2-0. Just two minutes later, we were staring at a 3-0 deficit. We had a brief moment where we looked decent, but we just couldn’t get anything going offensively. Then, in the 21st minute, Severn Valley struck again, bringing the score to 4-0. We managed to hold on until halftime.
Phil talked about pressing Severn Valley more and putting pressure on their keeper, since we were making it too easy for them. As the second half kicked off, we made a mistake right away, and it cost us—5-0. Just two minutes later, they scored again, making it 6-0. What were the old Wulfs thinking?
Finally, in the 45th minute, we got a free kick, and Josh stepped up to smash it into the right side of the net—6-1!
With ten minutes left, Severn Valley added two more goals, ending the game at 8-1.
Phil and Greg really need to rethink their strategy, and the team has to put in some serious effort to turn this season around.
Come on, lads, let’s show the league what we’re capable of!
