Today, we faced off against Withymoor Colts Old Wulfs, hoping to turn our season around after not winning a game yet. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t our day. Old Wulfs started strong, playing into the wind, and despite the challenge, they showed some solid football with a compact midfield. However, in the 18th minute, Withymoor scored against the run of play!

After that, Old Wulfs had a few opportunities, hitting the crossbar but failing to convert. In the 25th minute, Oscar received a yellow card for a mistimed tackle, but the team was fighting hard like Spartans. Just before halftime, Old Wulfs conceded two quick goals, leaving the score at 3-0.

Greg spoke to the team about pressing Withymoor more in the second half, especially since the wind was now in our favor. Just five minutes in, Lucas set up Harry G, who found the back of the net. Two minutes later, Lucas earned us a penalty, but unfortunately, it was missed. In the 43rd minute, Withymoor scored again against the run of play.

In the 63rd minute, Harry G scored again, bringing the score to 4-2. Greg decided to go for it, switching to a 3-5-2 formation as Old Wulfs dominated possession, keeping Withymoor pinned in their half. Sadly, despite our efforts, we missed several chances, and Withymoor countered, scoring two more goals.

The game ended 6-2, but Old Wulfs fought hard throughout. The win is on the horizon, lads! Let’s keep training hard and playing with determination; we will get the results we deserve.
