Today, we kicked off against Kidderminster Lions in an early match due to the Wolves game. Kidderminster is one of the top teams in our league. The game started with Old Wulfs dominating possession and showcasing some great passing football. In the 9th minute, Kidderminster struck first on a counterattack. However, Old Wulfs didn’t back down and quickly took control, moving the ball around effectively. Dan received the ball on the wing and delivered a beautiful pass to Josh, who found the back of the net just a minute later (10th minute). The game was on! For the next five minutes, both teams fought hard, but in the 15th minute, Kidderminster scored again, making it 2-1.
The match turned into a thrilling back-and-forth contest, and Old Wulfs were unfortunate to be trailing 2-1 at halftime. During the break, Phil had to make some adjustments due to an injury to Brad, and Arun’s absence was a setback we didn’t need. The second half began with a new formation, but we conceded two quick goals in just four minutes—definitely not ideal! Come on, lads! In the 41st minute, Dan made a fantastic play on the right side, sending a brilliant through ball to Harry G, who calmly slotted it in! The score was now 4-2.
Just two minutes later, Kidderminster responded with another goal, bringing it to 5-2. After that, Harry, our goalkeeper, made a fantastic save but unfortunately got injured, so Olly bravely stepped in as keeper. Kidderminster then went on a scoring spree, netting six more goals. Despite the scoreline, Old Wulfs fought hard until the end, and their effort was commendable. Great job today, lads! Let’s keep pushing forward!
