Today, we faced off against Kewford Eagles Central, a team that had gotten the better of us last time, so we were really eager to flip the script since we’ve been on a good run lately.
The game didn’t kick off well for Old Wulfs; we started off sluggish and couldn’t get the ball moving. In the 8th minute, Kewford capitalised on our poor play and scored! It was time for Old Wulfs to wake up. Right from the kickoff, after a series of 7 passes, Harry G sent a perfect ball to Josh, who finished it beautifully. That’s the teamwork we’re capable of! 1-1.
After that, Old Wulfs really came alive, creating chances but failing to convert. By halftime, we were a bit unlucky not to be ahead by a couple of goals!
At halftime, Phil rallied the guys, emphasising the need to dig deep and seize our opportunities. Some players needed a breather because of the heat!
The second half kicked off with both teams going back and forth. I’d say Old Wulfs had the better chances. Then, in the 53rd minute, a Kewford player scored an incredible goal from 30 yards out with a half volley. We gave him way too much time on the ball—he shouldn’t have had that much space!
Just five minutes later, things got worse as Kewford scored again, making it 3-1. With only 10 minutes left, Old Wulfs had a few chances, but, as has been the case this season, we just couldn’t find the back of the net! Tough luck, lads; we didn’t deserve to lose again, but we really need to be sharper in front of goal!
Final score 3-1 .
